  • GSA commissioned artist Lloyd Hamrol to create Thronapolis for the federal building in Atlanta. The artwork's title means "City of Chairs."  Hamrol described his sculpture as a "spiraling form made of 19 proportional chair-like elements arranged in systematic progression from smallest to largest."  His goal was to create an artwork that engages visitors through physical movement and touch.
