  • "Conservatory Pond," a group of three 4' x 5' mural prints, shows Central Park's boat pond.  It is one of New York's most popular oases, adjacent to Fifth Avenue's looming apartment buildings and vast expanses of trees.  Using multiple exposure techniques--combining north, south, east and west views within a single photograph--and compositional variations, Apfelbaum's images create a subtle panoramic effect, vividly populated by passers-by.  The movement and activity, rendering of space, and the detail within these works, engage the viewer and create a sense of inclusion.
