  • "Confirmation" is a stainless steel sculpture comprised of three main parts: an asymetrical pyramid form, a large circle with a triangular notch at the top of the design and an arch, shaped like an upside-down letter U.  The three gleaming forms intersect at edges and appear to move, floating through each other as opposed to allowing themselves to be restricted by the physical weight of the steel. The artist has described his sculpture as a "confirmation of public sculpture for brightness, clarity and illuminosity.  Confirmation of the arch, the circle, the triangle are combined to express the positive social comment affirmed in ideas and relationships created in life between birth and death.  To pass securely through the years of work into retirement with the confidence that our efforts are appreciated and corraborated by the positive humanistic society which we are continually creating." Edwards says that he likes to work with stainless steel because of the minimum upkeep required and the light reflections afforded by the metal's shiny surface.
