- Our concept for this artwork is to create a welcoming and calming element for visitors to encounter when entering the courthouse, which can be a solemn experience. We created a contrast between the dark, seemingly deep and still reflecting pool and the long, low curving waterfall with its very active textural surface. The pale turquoise color of the glass was chosen to emphasize the water and to match the color of the two outside pools. The gentle curve of the waterfall subliminally references the scales of justice.
