  • Goodman has described his sheet metal sculpture as the physical manifestation of a gesture, which suggests the opening of a form.  From any position, the eye is led along curves which change from an energetic veritcal to a floating horizontal and back again.

The sculpture's height, form and matte yellow color all conform to the building's truncated pyramid design by strongly contrasting to it.  The piece, which lacks any political or commemorative theme, was designed for the visual enjoyment of those who work in and visit the building.
