  • Judith Brown's three dimensional work of art consists of a procession of flowing horses and human figures patinated in brown and black hues.  The hammered metal sculpture is executed in modern style, yet the piece inspires thoughts of classic Grecian art which complements the neoclassical architectural style of the building.  The installed work is approximately six and half feet high by thirty feet long and includes some recycled metal.  Brown's choice of equestrian figures was motivated by her impressions of the sculptural friezes of Greek and Roman temples.  The artist believes that the sculpture was a fitting image for a court facility and easily understood by the general public.  The sculpture can be viewed from below at ground level or from the stairs above.  At any vantage point, one can feel the majesty exuded by her work and experience the airy movement the figures project circling the rotunda space.
