  • 31' high X 11' wide sculpture with 14 foot goal-post like anchor and two movable rectangular forms on each end. Two Open Rectangles Eccentric is a kinetic sculpture in stainless steel. A stainless steel, two prong fork in heavy gauge metal supports two stainless rectangles. The supported rectangles are fabricated in lighter gauge stainless and rotate independently on bearings. Rectangles are fabricated with rivets, the heavier, supporting stainless fork has welded seams.  A concrete base supports the stainless fork. Rickey's works reveal to the viewers how even a slight change in weather or light affects the sculpture in dramatic ways.



    According to Rickey:  "The paths of 'Two Open Rectangles Excentric' move in an unusual waythey are strictly controlled and never cross.  If they appear to be on a collision course, it is because of our early conditioning to movements along a straight line.  The movement, in response to the breeze, is random though the path is not.  The rectangles are open and transparent.  Each can be seen through the other; the buildings and the sky can be seen through both as they frame a constantly changing landscape.
