  • Iowa Summer belongs to a series of four pastel drawings installed in the elevator lobbies of the U.S. Courthouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The series depicts the changing patterns, colors and textures found in the rural landscapes of Iowa throughout each of the four seasons.   Iowa Summer features a late summer field in Clinton County, Iowa.  Wagener chose to highlight Iowa during the changing seasons in order to encourage an appreciation of the state’s year-round natural beauty.  She also hopes that the agrarian landscapes will offer a calming and contemplative reprieve for individuals as they move throughout the federal courthouse.
