  • Aluminum grilles behind the stewart eagles above the Broadway entrances. Eleven designs comprise the grillework executed under Litchfield as Consulting Architect. The designs represent the Departments of Navy, Agriculture, Labor, Army, Post Office, Commerce and Revenue; the courts, the motif from the New York State Seal, thirteen stars for the original states, and a model for the main bands and small unit at the bottom of the grille border.
