  • William Penhallow Henderson's six oil paintings for the Santa Fe Courthouse were initiated in 1933 under the Public Works of Art Project (PWAP) and completed in 1938 under the Treasury Relief Art Project (TRAP). The theme for the murals was the New Mexican landscape, whose natural beauty the artist wished to celebrate and evoke within the courthouse.
