  • Tropical Country, Lands of Hawaii depicts a scene of cultivated land where a group of men are planting pineapple plants. There are two mules in the picture who are harnessed to a plow.  Stripes of white contrasting the dark coral color of the earth indicate the paper mulch (generated by the mulching machine shown) being laid down during the planting process.  The distant mountains are a rich but transparent purple, and the group of men are surround by lush green trees and bushes.
