Anna K. Burgess
b. Oahu, HawaiiBorn in Oahu, Hawaii, Burgess earned degrees at the University of Hawaii in Manoa and Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where she also taught. She headed the fabric design and weaving program at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and worked as a designer for Jack Lenor Larsen and Russel Wright. After moving to Santa Fe, Burgess taught fiber arts at National Endowment for the Arts-sponsored textile workshops and the Institute of American Indian Arts. Her work has been widely exhibited and is part of the permanent collections at Cranbrook Academy of Art and several muse
