BiographyOne of the most highly premiated Progressive Architecture Award winners, Monica Ponce de Leon's practice Office dA is highly inventive in exploring the use of innovative forms and new materials. The studio has received numerous international awards for previous work that includes Helios House, a sustainable gas station in Los Angeles, and the Macallen Building, the first sustainable condominium project in Boston. Office dA is also the designer of the United States Land Port of Entry in Madawaska, Maine.

Ponce de Leon is Dean of the University of Michigan’s A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, a position to which she was named in fall 2008. Previously she was the director of the Digital Lab and a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where she earned her Master's of Architecture in Urban Design in 1991.
