Indian Fight and its companion painting, Corral, were originally installed in the Colorado Springs Post Office in 1937. The murals first came to the Denver Federal Center in 1967 but were removed in 2001 because of a building modernization project. While in storage both murals received conservation treatment, including being mounted on panels to make them more stable, as well as work on the historic frames.
Corral found a new home in the Byron Rogers G. Rogers Federal Building & Courthouse in Denver, Colorado in 2008, but it wasn’t until October of 2015 that Indian Fight was able to go to it’s new location in building 41 of the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado.
