  • The sculpture consists of a connected series of 24 delicately balanced crescent forms interacting together with kinetic movement. Constructed of marine aluminum alloy, the mobile structure sways in changing patterns when touched by a breeze. The artist wished to give animation to the space and to impart movement related to the varied, swaying rhythms of a landscape.  The sculpture and its title evoke images of the area, known for its sugar cane fields, Houma tribe dances, and oil rig pumps.  According to the artisttThe silvery color of the metal adds airiness and grace.
