  • The Section of Painting and Sculpture of the Works Progress Administration commissioned John Folinsbee to complete these murals for the Courtroom.  They depict scenes of trade and traffic along the Ohio River, highlighting its primary role in the economy and daily life of Paducah. The River depicts the stern wheel steamer "Paducah" moored at the foot of Court Street with Owen's Island in the background.
