  • The Section of Painting and Sculpture of the Works Progress Administration commissioned John Folinsbee to complete these murals for the Courtroom.  They depict scenes of trade and traffic along the Ohio River, highlighting its primary role in the economy and daily life of Paducah.  Early Town depicts an early street scene at the foot of Court Street, now Kentucky Avenue, just after the building of the first Courthouse.
