  • This mural was commissioned through the Section of Painting and Sculpture, Works Project Administration (WPA). It portrays a female figure of justice emerging from an area of light.  Hirsch wished to portray the allotment of  justice to the deserving and undeserving. Justice raises her hand over the figures in the left panel, spreading plenty on those who live righteous lives. The left hand of Justice moves down on the figures on the right, pushing away with a condemning gesture.
