  • Composed of 78 panels, this sculpture depicts the progress of civilization and the evolution of government.  Highly stylized figures and shapes begin with portraying the needs of the individual, the formation of family groups, and ultimately, the development of nations under an organized and dynamic government for the people. Various sizes and colors of aggregate stones soften the tones and textures of the cast concrete, blending with the brick of the adjacent promenade and the concrete of the upper floors.
