- The mural depicts naval ships, farmers, oil wells, and a mission interspersed among ocean and hillsides. Her style was beginning to take on the influence of Diego Rivera. The work was commissioned under the Public Works of Art Project as San Diego was preparing for the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition.
