- 1. This panel covers 1636 and shows William Pynchon and Miles Morgan.
2. 1676 when the Indians under Wequogan attacked and burned Springfield and only Pynchon's garrison house survived and Ensign Cooper and Miller were fatally wounded.
3. Shows trade on the Connecticut River and the religious controversy and the trial of Rev. Robert Breck.
4. Events in Springfield during the Revolutionary War and in 1787, Daniel Shays attack at the armory and his veterans being repulsed by the militia under General Shephard.
5. The 60 year period from 1826-1886, and Negro slavery, John Brown is shown with a group of slaves. On the left is George Ashmun who was the defender of Daniel Webster and proposed Abraham Lincoln for the presidency. Also Samuel Bowles, newspaperman, is shown with Mr. Webster. 6. Springfield during WW1 and the long depression period that followed, soldiers marching to war and war dead, some buildings of the Eastern States Exposition to reclaim the backslide in commerce.
