The figure of Phoenicia is a woman standing tall and straight.  Her hands meet in front of her stomach and grasp a small model boat.  a carved pillar stands behind each of Phoenicia's elbows.  The entire sculpture is carved from one section of tennessee "marble" limestone. The alignment between the large carved stone section and the granite base is fairly regular around all sides.
