At the Horizon: Art for the U.S. Border

International borders are socially charged spaces that are full of cultural, historical, and political significance. The influence of a border crossing often extends far beyond the site's physical limits.

Artists chosen by GSA to create projects for U.S. border crossings (also known as land ports of entry) are challenged to make artworks that are meaningful and accessible. Whether encountered by viewers virtually or in person, these artworks address the complexities of physical and political boundaries, and what they represent for individuals, communities, and nations.
