Out of Sight!

GSA holds in public trust for the American people an important collection of federal artwork that we protect, maintain, and interpret. Our goal is to make this artwork accessible to the public whenever possible, and much of the collection is easy to visit in person.

However, due to the specific security requirements of certain federal buildings and sites that only admit visitors on official business, some artworks in the GSA collection are currently inaccessible to the general public.

On this website, GSA is able to provide virtual access to the artworks that are located inside secure federal buildings and campuses. These artworks encompass a wide range of artistic media, historical periods, and subject matter. Although generally unavailable to visit in person, several of these artworks are well known and might be familiar to you from popular books, movies, and TV programs.
