  • "Two Worlds Apart" consists of two columns covered in mosaic tiles.  Each placed in front of each of the Federal buildings that face Telfair Square.  The columns have stylized capitals; one a classical design, one a palmetto motif.  These two sculptures are symbols of the natural world and the world of culture.  The color of the sculptures, a rich green and a vibrant red, were chosen for symbolic references to life and growth. "Two Worlds Apart" represents the balance between two coexisting worlds, nature and culture - "a fragile relationship between two powerful forces."
