  • Allan McCollum devised a geometric vocabulary of 300 parts that potentially could create more than 30 billion unique Shape combinations. Each combination comprises four to six parts that together form a single Shape. The American Black Walnut Shapes for FDA Shapes Project were made in collaboration with Artasia, a home-based scrollsawing workshop in Sedgwick, Maine, managed by the husband-and-wife team of Horace and Noella Varnum.
